Second Hand Stitching Complete

Ta-da!  Here’s my second hand stitched piece, finished and framed.

The stitched area is only 5″ x 7″, but the framed dimensions are approximately 16″ x 19″.

Here’s a detail shot:

I think I like it as much as the first one! And I definitely enjoyed stitching it just as much.

Now, I need a name for it.  Maybe some reference to the surf?  Any ideas?  If so, I’d love to hear them.

ellen, when you do your stitching– are you hooping it ??? and if so, do you then wet it & block it to remove the hoop ‘marks’ ??? just curious….love this one too!!

Thanks for your question, Sharon. I didn’t hoop these pieces, (although that’s what most people would recommend.) Because I had painted the linen it was stiffened a little and that worked well. I DID still have to block both of these hand stitched pieces, just due to the distortion of the stitching. (See the July 6th post. It includes a link – in the P.S. – to blocking instructions.)

    How about

    A walk on the beach
    or
    Along the shore

Great suggestions, Doreen. The first piece had to do with looking for shells, so walking on the beach plays into that.

    How about Sea Tide Jewels?

    Another great suggestion, Cindy.
