Opening Night in Bedford!
How exciting to see my name on the wall of a gallery!

The opening reception for my exhibit was on Friday, August 22nd. I was really pleased with it. The artwork was beautifully lit and hung and the colors looked very joyful.
This was the primary view upon entering, (before others arrived.)

I was especially glad to have my mom and sister present. Here I am with my mom in front of Mr. and Mrs. This quilt is about her and my dad.

In addition to the gallery space shown above I was also invited to hang more work in the adjacent lobby/hallway. Again, I was very pleased with the arrangement.

I did a presentation and the audience was very interested. I got lots of questions and had engaging conversations with most of the attendees. Afterwards, several venue employees and board members took me out to dinner. They (we) were a lively group and I really enjoyed it.
The Bower Center for the Arts did a very nice job with every aspect of my exhibit! I am very appreciative.

Ellen,
We are really enjoying having your art quilts at Bower Center for the Arts. And what an excellent talk you gave … so informative about the process you go through to create your beautiful and unique work. Plus, the “game” you devised for the visitors to locate the quilts that contains the fabric matching the little swatches you provided … what a fun “scavenger hunt” and a great use of left over scraps of cloth. And finally … being able to spend time over dinner with you was a real treat.
Sarah Bolduc, the juror/judge for the recent 4th Biennial National Juried Fiber Arts Exhibit, came by Tuesday and was very impressed with your work.
Thank you for providing a beautiful array of your artistry for this exhibit.
Hi Dotti,
It was so fun to talk to viewers at the reception, and to eat out with all of you.
I’m glad Sarah liked the work!
Your work is beautiful! It is a true reflection of the fascinating person that you are. It was so nice to meet your mother and your sister. I enjoyed your talk, very informative and I learned a few new things. Thank you! Having dinner with you and the rest of the “crew” was quite enjoyable. So many great stories and many laughs. Thank you for making the trip from Fla. to be at the reception.
