2001 An
experiment in painting sheers resulted in the fabrics used in this
quilt. Uneven drying caused many unexpected splotches, and even a few
shiny spots. These were used to create a very painterly
effect. Fabrics
were cut into irregular shapes, then stitched down collage style, with
all edges left raw. Tulle,
netting, and beading were added to enhance the impression of flames and
sparks. |
