As I mentioned in the last post, my art quilt group, Dirty Dozen Fiber Artists, often has group challenges based on drawing inspiration from a particular photo. This was the photo we selected for our 2009 challenge. Photo credit: Martha Wolfe We decided on a vertical orientation, with measurements of 18″ x 12″. Here’s the group display….
My latest piece, Coastal Overlook, is now complete. It’s about 30″ x 40″ and I’m pretty happy with it. If you’ve been following my blog you know that this quilt was inspired by a drive along the Pacific Coast Highway in California. I wanted to abstract it and, for me, that’s the tricky part. Thanks so much for sharing these quilts with us. I follow your posts for this reason and I like your step by step process in designing your quilts.
Thanks, JA. I’m glad you like the quilts and I appreciate your feedback on my chatty “show and tell.”
