My experiments and play this year have taught me a lot. Some of it has produced good results and some of it has taught me what to AVOID. All of which is valuable.
I learned more about abstract composition.
And how NOT to get transparency with fabric.
I tried my hand at deconstructed screen printing, and loved the results.
I learned to blend layers in Photoshop Elements. What fun!
I learned how to make hexies.
AND I painted directly onto a quilt!
Just a few of my adventures! What have you learned this year?

I swear, what I learned was that I need another 12 hours in a day to do all that I want to do! YOU ARE GUILTY of contributing to that need, with all your wonderful and inviting ideas. Thank you!
🙂 Hi Lif, I totally get that! I’m lucky to have lots of leisure time these days, (so don’t try to keep up.) But, I do hope you’ll get to do SOME experimenting. We know how fun it is!
I’ve learned to click on your blog posts as soon as I can get to them, because I am always rewarded with exciting inspiration!
Oh, aren’t you sweet! I’m glad you’re enjoying them.
Happy New Year.
Looks like you learned a lot and had fun. Thanks for sharing all of your experiments.
You’re welcome, Kristin!
Hi Ellen, After reading this…I’ve found that I have some more exploring to do and now, I have the time to do it (newly retired). Thank you for sharing your inspirations and explorations from 2017. Can’t wait to see what you do in 2018! Hope to catch up in person some time soon.
Hi Arlene. How exciting to be retired and have more time! I’m sure you’ll find many exciting projects to try.
Yes, it would be great to cross paths one of these days. My folks live in VA, so you never know.
