My latest quilt is complete! As you can see, I decided to square off the edges.
These colors are true. My earlier ones were shot in the studio. This one got proper lighting.

Waiting for the Lightnin’ Bugs
The dark colors of the quilt, combined with yellow streaks, reminded me of a cool evening, in VA, watching the lightnin’ bugs as they came out. (Yes, I pronounce it like that. I’m from the south!)
Here’s a detail shot
And another. All fabrics were dyed by me.
I’m kinda loving this.

I watched you last year at the retreat moving pieces of fabric around and up and down then off or hidden and then removed and yet returned in a different area. I was fascinated and couldn’t imagine what was in your mind. Waiting for the Lightng Bugs cleared up how you envision your work….I think! Wow! And now I laugh because it’s just what I did creating an assemblage for a friend. It started with a pig and a cup and then 30 more little things. So my media is easier to fit together and I don’t have to tip stitches…just peel glue! Bravo! So proud of the artist you have become!
THANKS, Mary! This one also began at a retreat. That’s easy to do, since the early steps are very random. Eventually, I have to get organized and really PAY ATTENTION to the composition. That’s when it gets challenging! I was happy with the outcome.
YOURS certainly sounds creative! As always. Hugs.
