A Visit to Santa Fe

As part of revamping my website, I’m moving travel articles to this blog.  This one was published in 2008.

This woman was glad to have her photo taken, but she wanted to make sure I included her jewelry.

I was there in 2007 and I have always wanted to go back. There is something so amazing about Santa Fe, it has stayed with me all these years. I fell in love with the gorgeous blue sky and the adobe buildings, the rock formations and the Native American motifs seen in many places. I painted with Jan Hart (a group of us were students) and we traveled up to Georgia O’Keefe’s ranch. The scenery, the atmosphere, the glorious colors – all are etched into my memory. I think I could live there easily!

Ellen, thanks for the beautiful Santa Fe pictures. My only visit to Santa Fe was to the SAQA 2013 conference, and some of my favorite memories are of the wooden fences, and of course, the adobe buildings, the clear sky . . . well, nearly everything I saw!

Martha, it’s SO interesting isn’t it? And in SUCH a different way than I’m used to!
